“LexiTools for Android” (LexiDroid) has been developed as part of „LexiTools” project. It allows quick searches of entries within specially adapted bilingual dictionaries and building messages out of chosen words and phrases. These messages may be sent as text messages, via SMS.
LexiTools for Android is available with Michal Tasiemski's dictionary, with a vast number of phrases and expressions. We intend to achieve high quality of translations thanks to this dictionary because it contains fragments of expressions out of which one can create sensible statements and questions. The LexiDroid communicator is supposed to replace any printed phrase books for tourists and enable people speaking different languages to understand each other, for example by using a cell phone to show the text they want to share with somebody on the screen.
SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM

The main screen contains a field in which you can enter a part of the entry you are looking for and three buttons:
? Search: search in the dictionary
? More: call up the information about the program
? Direction: change direction of translation
(Polish-English or English-Polish)

The same operations are available from the menu.
Besides that the menu has the following functions:
? Memory – browsing remembered text
(memory)
? Send SMS – sending remembered text as
SMS

After choosing dictionary search, entries containing the beginning of the entry (the key) are called up .
The searched word can also be found in the middle of a phrase!
E.g. “znak zapytania” is consistent with “zapyta”.
Firstly, simple entries are shown. The list of the chosen entries can be browsed through. Clicking (choosing) one of them causes displaying of the “details” screen. (See: Further)

In the “details” window a single entry is displayed.
It may replace the old memory contents (Store) or may be added to the memory (Append). After completion of saving action the current memory content is displayed (the same can be achieved from the main menu).

Memory window displays the remembered text – the Polish meaning is separated from the English one. The whole text (combined) can be sent as an SMS.

Sending the message requires only entering the phone number. It can be extracted from the list of contacts. Entering the beginning of a name from the list of contacts will cause a list of consistent entries to appear. The phone number can also be typed directly into the „Phone No.” field.

Even people with little or no knowledge of a foreign language can break language barriers and be understood by means of LexiTools for ANDROID |
